Welcome toNewcastle Go Club

We are a group of Go players from Newcastle upon Tyne.

We meet at 7pm every Thursday at the Benton Ale House and are open to all players, regardless of age or skill level.

If you have never played Go before then don’t worry. We have everything you need and would be happy to teach you. If you’re not sure what Go is, you can find our more at the British Go Association’s About Go page.

Go Tournament 2024

Saturday 31st August - Sunday 1st September

We are pleased to announce Newcastle's first Go tournament!

Entry fees:

  • £10 for BGA members and concessions
  • £20 for all other entrants

Friday 30th Evening:

Meeting in pub function room for casual Go. Details TBC.

Saturday 31st August

  • 9:30 - Registration
  • 10:00 - Three rounds ending at 17:15
We will be meeting at a restaurant in Chinatown in the evening for anyone who wishes to join.

Sunday 1st September

  • 10:00 - 2 Rounds
  • 15:15 - Awarding of Prizes

Benton Ale House

The Benton Ale House is an incredibly welcoming venue and has been a good home for our club.

There is on site parking and disabled access to the rear.

For public transport connections, the Four Lane Ends interchange is just round the corner for both buses and the Metro.
